Meena the future Google’s PDA that can actually hold a conversation.
PDAs like Alexa and Siri are able to detect keywords, follow a simple conversation script but that could change!
Researchers from the Google Brain team, specialized in deep learning, have unveiled Meena which is a real evolution and should become the most human Chatbot in the world. Meena is a neural network with 2.6 billion parameters. Google claims that Meena is able to handle digressions in a conversation, to discuss anything and everything in the most natural and humorous way in the world. It takes into account the discussions you may have had with it before and it has a certain general knowledge.
To train himself, the AI went to read and integrate the interactions, the chatter of humans. He had to decode conversations accessible on social networks, a file of 340 gigabytes of text or six times the written volume of Wikipedia.
40 billion English words, was used to form Meena. By way of comparison, the Oxford English Dictionary lists 200,000 words in English.
Google has also created alongside Meena a measure called Sensibleness and Specificity Average (SSA) which measures the ability to maintain a conversation. Meena scores 79% using the new measure. By comparison, Mitsuku, an AI agent developed by Pandora Bots and winner of the Loebner Award, scored 56%. Meena’s score is close to her ability to converse with humans. On average, humans score about 86% using the SSA measure.
If we take the human as a reference on a 100% basis, Google’s AI would be 91.86% … the gap is closing!
The question is how long it will take for an AI to overtake us on this point …
